The keynote speaker during the opening session will be Vivek Kundra, Former U.S. CIO. His keynote address will be followed by a lively discussion among several World Bank Directors. 2. Open Government Partnership: Global Dialogue on Preparation of National Action Plans
February 28, 09:00am – 11:30am Washington time
FYR Macedonia and Moldova are among the growing number of countries that are seeking to adopt the open government paradigm (e.g., platforms for citizen engagement, mechanisms for monitoring service quality, open data) to facilitate public sector reform and foster innovation and competitiveness. The proposed workshop aims to provide a core group of policy makers from FYR Macedonia and Moldova with relevant input and experiences from peer countries – Brazil, the United Kingdom and the United States – enabling them to develop bold but focused national Action Plans as part of their initiative to join the Open Government Partnership (http://www.opengovpartnership.org). More details are coming soon.
3. ICT Learning Days
February 29, 08:00am – 04:00pm Washington time
March 1, 08:00am – 04:00pm Washington time
ICT Learning Days will include a series of learning events focusing on different aspects of using ICT for development in various sectors and regions, including universal broadband service in rural Saudi Arabia; mobile applications for agricultural and rural development; mobile money; ICT procurement; transformational potential of ICT for opening development; and the role of eID within e-government strategies.
